I'm so screwed on the spanish test tomorrow. A week ago, I knew the map, I just didn't know any of the culture crap. Now I've forgotton everything. The test is last period tomorrow, though. I have 6 more hours tonight to study, tomorrow morning, directed study and any free time during any of my classes. I'm dead.

I've seen up to episode 203 of Queer as Folk, read all that's been written of Megatokyo, Your Wings are Mine and Shoebox, practiced piano, worked outside, earned $50 from babysitting, and done all of my homework except for studying. That's about all I've done this vacation, but I feel accomplished. I haven't studied or cleaned my room, but neither of those was going to happen.

Now back to studying, damnitall. Back to memorizing stupid facts. When will I ever need to know that Federico Garcia Lorca was one of the first people killed in the Spanish Civil War? Besides the fact that he was gay? I don't even know who the first person killed in our civil war was. Stupid geography and culture and history.

If you ever get any room, you can download them from here: http://www.livejournal.com/community/qafdownloads/

They update with a master list at least once a day. It's where I got all of mine.

Was Federico whoever ACTUALLY gay and she told you that, or did you make that up? Because I'd be pretty impressed if anyone even thought to touch on the subject of homosexuality in historical figures at our.... (insert derision here) school.

Shakespeare = crazy bisexual. That'll be all.

Elisabeth found his name when she was doing her history report. And she's found sites saying he was gay. And yesterday, when I was trying to study, she was iming me different quotes from the sites. Kfoury definately didn't mention it. But I believe he was homosexual.

He wasn't only gay, he was openly gay, or was by the time he died. He wrote numerous peoms in which he essentially came out, wrote a play that was a 'gay version of Romeo & Juliet', and had several boyfriends whom biographers actually know of. At least biography claims that one of the soldiers who shot him (as well as a bunch of people in/the entire village he was in) later bragged that they gave Federico extra bullet for being gay or something like that.

Also, K4 *did* mention that Federico was gay after we went to see the AIDS quilt, which impressed me. She also spent a while talking about how 10 years ago the whole topic of AIDS and homosexuality was really taboo and we've really come a long way.
