napoleonofnerds's post about education made me remember some essays I read a while ago. So I dug through my old bookmarks and actually found the site and have spent the afternoon reading the ones I remembered being interesting instead of doing what I was going to do, but whatever. So site is
here. (Majority of the essays have to do with computer programming as the author is a computer programmer, but there are still essays on other topics...)
The essays I like the most are
The Age of the Essay,
Good and Bad Procrastination,
What You Can't Say,
Why Nerds Are Unpopular and there were a few others I remember liking, but those are the only ones I've reread so far.
Oh, the one
napoleonofnerds's post reminded me of was
What You'll Wish You'd Known, which has the conclusion we've already all come to, that we should pursue what interests us outside of school if we aren't satisfied with the education we get in school.
So y'all should read those essays... Just a warning though, they're all around 10 pages single spaced, so they each take me around 15 minutes to read and I'm supposedly a fast reader...
