[livejournal.com profile] acern, here's the interview. It's with MIT Professor Dr. Henry Jenkins on slash and it made me happy.

Haven't updated in awhile... I have three 10 page papers to write in the next month and a half, but oh well because [livejournal.com profile] acern tells me I should finish reading death note, and my aunt sent me two Hugh Jackman movies she had, and I still have some house episodes to watch and it's a good thing I finished all of my homework in school because I wouldn't get anything done if I had to tonight.

Any juniors more informed than I am know what's happening with the Thanksgiving Gala?

OMG!! I just read about this guy in the newspaper! They did an article about him and somehow managed not to mention fanfiction, let alone slash, at all, but I KNEW he must have been involved with it somehow!

The one in the boston globe? Or some other newspaper? I don't get the Globe, so just did a google news search and that was the first article to show up. But ya, that article did mention fan communities and fans and whatnot, but never fanfiction or slash.

Yeah, the Globe. (Also, he wrote Scrooge/Marley? And published it? That's [livejournal.com profile] rarelitslash hardcore.)

The "Gala" was postponed I think b/c of the amazing planning, and town hall won't let us use the space b/c it's historical and we'll RIP IT TO SHREADS like we do at the hotel we use for prom & semi, which they've decided to replace with 'gala' and make LESS formal, although gala generally implies something more fancy/ pomp and circumstance (elgar!). That's all I know. Sorry, you could probably get better info from CharlieArlie.

Ok, thank you. Cause all I had heard is what was said at the assembly at the beginning of the year and the article in the advocate 3 or 4 weeks ago. And no one else seems to be mentioning it, so I wasn't sure what was happening with it.

You are so amazed by the fact that anyone would do so, it makes me laugh. Yes he wrote Scrooge/Marley. And no I do not want to find it and read it, of course not... Why would you suspect me of such a thing? XP

Haw, that's a brilliant interview!
....
....
Definitely thinking of putting that in as one of the topics.

And you should finish reading Death Note. :D I got bored having to download them each time, so if you want here's a site where you can just read it online- http://mangarun.com/death_note/
It's got other series, too, but they're not as important.

XD. You used [livejournal.com profile] napoleonofnerd's post about education? Complete cop out, you lazy genius, you.

I'm pretty sure I've downloaded like all of them, as I could download and unzip a whole chapter in about 5 minutes and it took me like 15 minutes to read each chapter, so even though I've only read half of them, I have the rest. But thanks for the link anyways.

I fail at spelling... That should be [livejournal.com profile] napoleonofnerds, as you obviously know already.

Ca-rol! Why did you use that post? I just had to go delete all my comments so that people wouldn't find my old LJ!

...seriously, if you could post a different link altogether, that would be really helpful, because I REALLY don't want people finding my LJ by like, looking at Ej's friendslist or something. O__o;;; Although I guess that's asking a bit much.

I think your reaction is a little extreme. Because first of all, don't you mostly flock things? And then, I mean you can't expect anything you post on the web to be completely private or protected from the people you don't want to see it. People from school could find it through the gsa community or any of your friends flists without the link to [livejournal.com profile] napoleonofnerds's post. But more to the point, [livejournal.com profile] acern can't delete or change her comment because it's anonymous, so only Kitsis can delete it... But still, I saw that and I went *headdesk* cause like 20 of those 100 comments on that post are mine. And I don't flock normally...

From: [identity profile] duello.livejournal.com
Well, yeah, everything's flocked except my CRAZY HISTORICAL SLASH and everything else totally incriminating that I don't want people at school to see. ^^;;;; I only flock the stuff that would give away where I live or that's talking about stuff only relevant to my local friends or something. Fandom stuff HAS to be public because otherwise no one else can see it. agh.

Ah, ok. [livejournal.com profile] acern was asking me how to flock her whole lj because she didn't actually think about it when she used [livejournal.com profile] napoleonofnerds's post as a source. So ya, let's hope everyone, including Kitsis, is lazy and doesn't actually look at it.

I'm really sorry about that! ._. I just put it up on a whim, and didn't really think that it might be a problem. After thinking about it, I went back to try and delete it, but I couldn't. >>;
